Black-magic in Malayalam Mahabharat - Part 2
In the last part, we discover the Pallippana ritual and also
the legend behind it. Today, we'll read a rather different version of the
identical, in which the ritual isn't conducted through the Malayi.A rather different version in the above is noted within the
Nizhalkkuttu attakatha that was composed by Shri Pannisseri Nanupillai in 1925,
and based on the author, there weren’t a lot of Hindu homes (then) which didn't
carry out the Nizhalkkuttu attakatha at least one time per month to annul the
results of abhicara which might have been done by some person. The storyline behind this is comparable to the above
mentioned having a slight difference. Duryodhan calls Bharata Malayan to do
abhicara. When Malayan learns the victims of his act were the Pandavs, he
declines to get it done, for him both Pandavs and also the Kauravs were
Nobleman, besides the truth that Krishna was together, with the result that
he'd be unable to achieve this. Duryodhan threatened him with dire effects if
he didn't adhere to his order.Malayan agreed but requested for several things for that
ritual - the sun's rays like a lamp, the moon like a plate, measures of
darkness, egg of the elephant, arrows utilized by Lord Rama, some leaves made
from water, etc. Besides these kinds of impossible things, also, he requested
for that sacrifice of the sister, Dusshala. On hearing all of this Duryodhan
was enraged and threatened to kill him instantly, if he didn't begin the
abhicara. A reluctant along with a scared Malayan made the decision to do the
ritual.
